How to see someone's recent Instagram followings (step by step)

Updated 4 October 20263 min read

You need the exact username of a public account. The whole process takes under a minute and you do not need an Instagram account.

Step by step

  • Find the username: it is the handle in the profile address, for example instagram.com/cristiano means the username is cristiano.
  • Open FollowScope, leave the mode on Latest Following and enter the username without the @ sign.
  • Press Search. The first row is the most recent follow, the second row the one before, and so on.
  • If you see a red notice that the order is wrong right now, Instagram is mixing up the list. Try again in about an hour.

What the result tells you

You see the username, the display name and whether each account is public, private or verified. Instagram does not publish the exact date of a follow, only the order. For exact detection times, add the profile to the watchlist.

Tips

  • Double-check the spelling: dots and underscores matter.
  • Search again later to see if something new appeared at the top.
  • Use the watchlist if you want to know about new follows without searching again and again.

Instagram does not show follow dates. The watchlist records the time a new follow was detected.

No. You do not log in and nothing on their profile changes.
